During a lesson of
the course on humanology, that also Giogi attended,
Gioginella recommended to her young pupils: "Kiddies! You
should really keep away from mites. In fact, they can
infect you with their cold!"
"You must know that mites
have very much cold. They infect everybody. They do it,
not because they are bad, but because they were born with
the cold and they never recover from it. Many kiddies
from the above-world suffer from colds caused by
mites."

Every day, a mite brings a
dust-snack to Giogi at school for the morning
break.
This mite is very friendly
and nice. One day, Giogi, who wants to become everybody's
friend, got too closer to it and began to
sneeze.

"Aaaahchoooooo!"
The mite looked at Giogi excited: "Ahchoo! Your nose is
dirty! Ahahaha!
How can I wipe it?" Giogi asked.
The mite answered: "Children use handkerchiefs, but there
isn't any on the Nife island".
Giogi replied: "Ahchoo! How
can I do?"
After a couple of minutes
he had an idea. What with one sneeze and another, he
rushed to the spider Anacletus.
He arrived at a small lake.
"Spider Anacletuuus! Ahchoo!" he called out. But no
answer was heard.
Oh! Here it is! It came out in a rush and with a smile.
It said: "Hi Giogi! How are you?"

Giogi answered: "Fine,
thanks. But I'm always wheezing!"
Spider Anacletus replied:
"Ahahaha! You do say sneezing, not wheezing! Eh eh eh!
You've got a cold, my kiddy!"
Giogi said: "Ahchoo! Can
you make me a handkerchief with your spider-web,
please?"
The spider answered
doubtfully: "It certainly isn't a spider's job, but I can
try. Give me two days!"
"All right" Giogi answered
and run away and played while spider Anacletus start to
think where he had to begin.
Many hours went by.
Anacletus kept on spinning, weaving, cutting and sewing,
and spitting. The first day went by and so did the
second. "That's that! My work is done!"
The spider sent a giogino
(a tiny helpmate) to call Giogi who arrived in a jiffy
with his very quick thin legs.
How wonderful! Giogi saw
the beautiful handkerchief woven with flowers and
threads. "It's wonderful!" he shouted.

AAnacletus was very pleased
and replied: "It looks pretty like children's
handkerchiefs and
modestly, it is also
fashionable!"
Anacletus looked at Giogi
in wonder: "Well! Why don't you sneeze anymore? Isn't
your nose red any longer?"
Giogi answered: "I think the cold has gone. I'm sorry for
having made you work so much!"
Spider Anacletus said with resignation: "Never mind! You
can keep it for the next time you'll get a
cold!"
Giogi replied: "Why? Can I
get the cold again?"
Anacletus answered: "You
certainly will, if you get closer to the mites
again!"
Giogi said: "They do it not because they are bad, though!
I have an idea. See you spider Anacletus and thank
you".
Anacletus replied: "Bye bye. Be careful next time!" and
thought to itself "Oh, these kiddies!"
Next day at the morning
break.
Giogi said: "Ehi mite Aker!
I've got a little present for you!"
The mite was touched and looked at Giogi. When it saw the
beautiful little handkerchief, it shouted: "How beautiful
it is! Thank you. It's the first time in my life that
I've been given a present!"
Giogi replied: "So, you can talk to everybody while
keeping the handkerchief onto your nose. In this way,
nobody will be infected by you".
After the morning break,
Giogi told his experience to his mates and to Gioginella
in his slowly and sweet manner: "From now on, the mites
with the handkerchiefs won't scare anybody! They are not
dangerous anymore".
Little butterfly added:
"That's a good idea, so they'll feel part of us and won't
be prevented from playing with us!"
Gioginella
smiled.
